It's no secret that throughout the 20 seasons that Tom Brady played quarterback for the New England Patriots from 2000-19, he could've made more money than he did.

However, we've never got a glimpse into those contract negotiations until now.

In a recent episode of Julian Edelman's "Games with Names" podcast, former Patriots executive Scott Pioli, who now works in the media, shared a story of a great negotiation between the team, Brady and Brady's agent Don Yee.

According to Pioli, after New England low-balled him on his rookie contract, Brady's team and the Patriots couldn't get a deal done later on in his tenure. Brady went directly to Pioli's office to discuss the contract face-to-face, called his agent and got the two sides on the same page.

Pioli admits that Brady's agents could've made so much more in their careers off of their client if they hadn't been didn't do what he wanted.

According to Spotrac, Brady earned $332.96 million in his playing career, and considering he just signed a 10-year, $375 million contract with FOX that started this year, he's not hurting for money.

However, the seven-time Super Bowl champion was willing to take less than he was worth to help the team.
