This week, ESPN's "College GameDay" traveled to the University of California's campus in Berkeley as the Golden Bears prepare to take on No. 8 Miami.

However, as excitement built for the Saturday matchup, college football fans may have noticed that one of the show's familiar faces wasn't sitting in his usual seat.

Lee Corso, who's been with "College GameDay" since it was created in 1987, wasn't on the broadcast this week.

Here's what to know about Corso's absence on "College GameDay" for the Week 6 matchup between California and Miami.

Is Lee Corso on ‘College GameDay?’

Corso was not on Saturday's live show in Berkeley, but host Rece Davis provided some context to the 89-year-old's absence, saying he was "a little under the weather."

While an unknown sickness prevented Corso from being involved with the first-ever "College GameDay" broadcast from California's campus , Davis did add that they expect him to return to the show soon.

Even at 89, Corso has been an analyst many college football fans look forward to watching, and he's shown no indications of leaving "College GameDay" for good yet. While he won't be on the show for Week 6, he should return for other upcoming broadcasts, based on Davis' updates.
