NFL power rankings Week 6: New York Giants rising after another upset win

The New York Giants (2-3) found themselves on the right side of an improbable upset over the Seattle Seahawks (3-2) on Sunday.

Despite being without the top two skill players on the offensive side of the ball, the Giants went into Seattle as massive underdogs and came away surprising victors.

This was even after the Giants gifted the Seahawks seven points on a 102-yard fumble return for touchdown at the goal line.

The offensive line was fantastic while Daniel Jones completed 23-of-34 passes for 257 yards, two touchdowns and a 109.6 passer rating.

Meanwhile, the Giants defense was constantly getting pressure on Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith as second-year cornerback Deonte Banks locked down DK Metcalf.

Going into Week 6, the Giants find themselves rising again in the power rankings after an upset win, just as they did when they upset the Cleveland Browns earlier this season.

    NFL power rankings Week 6

Following the unlikely upset on the road, the Giants rose four sports in the NFL power rankings entering Week 6, according to Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News .

    23. New York Giants 2-3 (27)

"The Giants are figuring out a few more things offensively. How they ran and passed the ball without Devin Singletary (groin) and Malik Nabers (head) in Seattle was a testament to Brian Daboll's smart play-calling. The pass rush is also waking up a bit to help," Iyer wrote.

While a conversation about the playoffs would still be considered overzealous, this Giants team clearly is different from last year's squad. The sheer fight they have shown in Year 3 under Brian Daboll has been a welcomed surprise.

Jones himself has been cool under pressure over the last three weeks, and he put together his best game of the young campaign thus far.

Getting Nabers and Singletary back in Week 6 would be a huge boost as the Giants now focus on hosting the Cincinnati Bengals (1-4) at MetLife Stadium on Sunday night.
