The Chicago Bears are monitoring the availability of a New England Patriots player whose name will sound familiar to Chicago, and well, the entire world.

With the Bears at 3-2, GM Ryan Poles is looking to add to his roster, and Poles has a tactful habit of targeting teams in trades who have little to play for. Enter the New England Patriots, who are 1-4 and about to throw their rookie quarterback to the wolves.

Poles is hoping that he can pry away an offensive line talent from New England to bolster Chicago's protection around Caleb Williams.

The Patriots lineman in question happens to be named Michael Jordan.

Jordan belongs in Chicago, does he not?

Poles won't have any luck negotiating with New England on the above premise, but he'll definitely use more prudent means to figure out what the Patriots would want in return for Jordan, who has been New England's lone star on the O-line so far this season.

Sports Mockery's Erik Lambert recently weighed in on the Chicago-Michael Jordan chances.

"Poles is monitoring the market closely," Lambert said.

"Poles is smart enough to target organizations in a clear transition or rebuilding phase. … Chicago is focused on finding help for their interior offensive line … Jordan is the lone bright spot for New England’s pass protection, allowing only five pressures."

The sports world deserves another Michael Jordan in Chicago, and it sounds like the Bears would benefit from the help along their offensive line.

Will Poles be able to swing a deal?
