Saints remain team to watch in Davante Adams sweepstakes

The New Orleans Saints have lost three consecutive games after a fast 2-0 start that saw them score 40 points in each of their two opening contests. Now at 2-3, and with Derek Carr set to miss multiple games, the Saints need a spark to get them back on track. And what better spark than a future Hall of Fame receiver?

Max Weisman of The Big Lead says that the Saints are still one of the teams that make a ton of sense to trade for Davante Adams.

"Adding Adams to a wide receiver core of Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed would open up the Saints offense, as their receiver depth falls off a cliff after Shaheed," Weisman writes. "Adams also has previous familiarity with Carr, having spent one season together in 2022, when both were named Pro-Bowlers. Adams led the league in touchdowns with 14 with Carr as his quarterback."

Reuniting Adams and Carr could definitely provide New Orleans with a big upgrade. But as previously noted, they'll have to wait an undisclosed amount of time until Carr is back and healthy.
