Both "Thursday Night Football" opponents needed a bounce-back win in Week 6, but it was the 49ers who came away with a momentum-shifting victory.

Just a week removed from a surprising 24-23 loss to the Cardinals, San Francisco's offense remained efficient in a 36-24 win over the Seahawks on Thursday. The 49ers initially had a 16-0 advantage to begin the matchup, but they needed some late-game scores to pull away for good.

As San Francisco's defense shut down Geno Smith in the first half, a 76-yard touchdown from Deebo Samuel and a trio of field goals from new kicker Matthew Wright gave the team a significant halftime lead. However, the home crowd in Seattle was rejuvenated after a 97-yard kickoff return touchdown from Laviska Shenault Jr. in the third quarter.

The Seahawks pulled within six as the fourth quarter approached, but the defending NFC champions put on a clinic from that point on. George Kittle snagged his second touchdown pass of the night, and a Kyle Juszczyk touchdown run with just over a minute remaining sealed the win for San Francisco.

The 49ers took over first place in the NFC West with the victory, now holding a win over their divisional opponent if there are any tiebreakers needed later in the season. Both teams figure to be in the playoff race as the season progresses.

By the end of the matchup, Smith threw 52 passes, completing 30 for 312 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. Brock Purdy totaled 255 passing yards and three touchdowns, pushing his career TD-to-INT ratio on 'Thursday Night Football' to 8:1. He's now 4-0 lifetime on TNF and 4-0 vs. Seattle for his career. He's also 7-2 in regular-season prime-time games.

Now 3-3 this season, San Francisco regained some momentum as it approaches a massive contest against the Chiefs in Week 7. Seattle, meanwhile, has lost three consecutive games after opening the season with three consecutive wins.

11:20 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — Juszczyk runs it up the middle for a six-yard score, and that just about seals the deal in this one. The 49ers will claim a road win, which could be big for the future NFC West results.

11:17 p.m. — Guerendo breaks free down the right sideline for 76 yards, and he appeared to slide just as he was being tackled instead of scoring. The 49ers will continue to try running the clock out.

11:14 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — The Seahawks make it a one-score game once again, as Smith finds Lockett for a nine-yard touchdown. It's a five-point game with 1:44 remaining.

11:11 p.m. — Seattle is moving down the field still in need of two scores, but on 1st & Goal, Smith's pass to Lockett is incomplete, bringing the game to the two-minute warning.

11:05 p.m. — Smith found Metcalf downfield for a potential 52-yard touchdown, but it's wiped off the board after an illegal shift.

10:59 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — That might've been a game-winning sequence for the 49ers, as Green's interception leads to George Kittle's second touchdown of the night as he makes a physical grab in the middle of the end zone. The two-point try is no good, but the 49ers have a two-score lead with just over six minutes remaining.

10:54 p.m. — For the second time tonight, Geno Smith throws an interception. Renardo Green comes up huge for the 49ers with a turnover as Seattle had put together a few chunk plays. Now, San Francisco has the ball in the red zone.

10:49 p.m. — Neither offense can find much momentum right now. The 49ers punt, but they do get a good punt from Mitch Wishnowsky, which is downed at Seattle's three-yard line.

10:44 p.m. — Deebo Samuel left the game for a moment after he appeared to be injured, but he comes right back on the next play. Meanwhile, Purdy hits Brandon Aiyuk for 21 yards to move into Seattle territory.

10:39 p.m. — An illegal shift moves San Francisco back five yards to begin its drive, but Purdy finds Kyle Juszczyk for 13 yards and the 49ers pick up a first down shortly after.
