Yankees, Royals benches clear after double play in ALDS Game 4

Things got a bit testy during Game 4 of the American League Division Series between the New York Yankees and Kansas City Royals.

With the Yankees holding a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, Maikel Garcia led off the inning with a single off Gerrit Cole.

Leadoff hitter Michael Massey then chopped a ball to Jon Berti, playing first base for the Yankees. After Berti tagged first base, he threw the ball to shortstop Anthony Volpe, who applied the tag on Garcia to complete the double play.

Though there weren't any punches thrown, there were some words exchanged between Volpe and Garcia.

Garcia clearly didn't like the tag that Volpe applied as he took a bit of an elbow to his upper chest area. It was interesting to see Volpe have a bit of attitude with the pats on the back and waving off Garcia after the play.

While Volpe's elbow clearly went into Garcia's neck, it was also clear that Garcia swiped at Volpe's glove.

It all turned out to be nothing, but it's evident there's no love lost between these two teams.
