The Canadiens might be coming off a poor 2023-24 campaign, but Montreal fans have plenty of reasons to be optimistic about a brighter future. They have one of the best young players in 20-year-old Juraj Slafkovský, as well as two dynamic scorers in Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. This could be the year that Martin St. Louis's squad gets back to the playoffs.

Of course, some questions remain. Can Sam Montembeault turn his flashes of dominance into a full season of greatness as Montreal's No. 1 goalie? Can defenseman Kaiden Guhle ascend from a stud athlete and fluid skater to one of the best defensemen in the NHL? Will rookies Lane Hutson and Logan Mailloux make immediate impacts in the pros?

If all these questions get answered and the Canadiens hit on all cylinders, they could return to the playoffs for the first time since making the Stanley Cup Final in 2021. If you're interested in watching along during the wild ride that will be the 2024-25 season, here's everything you need to know about Montreal's season.
