Jared Goff's potential NFL record is the last thing on Lions coach's mind

The Detroit Lions saw an offensive explosion in their 42-29 Week 4 victory over the Seattle Seahawks , and the showing included a standout effort from quarterback Jared Goff, who didn't throw a single incompletion.

Goff finished 18-of-18 for 292 yards and threw for two touchdowns while also catching another. And Goff's passes weren't all just dink-and-donk plays, either, making his performance even more impressive.

After enjoying a bye in Week 5, the Lions quarterback has a chance to make NFL history in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys if he can keep his consecutive completions streak alive.

If Goff completes his first seven passes on Sunday, he'll hold the league record for the most consecutive complete passes with 26. The veteran signal-caller's streak actually began in Week 3, when he completed his final pass of the game.

But if you think Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has that on his mind, you'd be wrong: “Not even on my thought process. We’re playing ball,” Johnson said .

Goff's effort in Week 4 has already broken multiple records. His 18 completions were the most in a game in which a quarterback didn't throw an incomplete pass, and he had the most passing yards in a single game without an incompletion.

Goff got off to a slow start to the season but has come on strong over the last two weeks. In that span, Goff has completed 87.8% of his passes for 491 yards and five total touchdowns to just one interception.

In all, Goff has completed 71% of his throws for 1,015 yards and six total scores to four interceptions. His completion rate ranks fourth in the NFL.

Riding a two-game winning streak, the Lions will look to extend it to three against the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on Sunday. Dallas is looking to do the same.
