One former member of the Dallas Cowboys is available and is looking for a new opportunity.

Former Cowboys fourth-round draft pick Jabril Cox is available after being released by the Minnesota Vikings. He was selected by Dallas in the 2021 National Football League Draft and appeared in 16 games over two seasons with the team.

He spent the 2023 season with the Washington Commanders and appeared in 10 games. Over the last three years, he has been in more of a depth role and tallied 10 total tackles.

Now that Cox is available on the open market, he is "expected to work out for teams" in the near future with the hope of landing a new job, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

"Veteran (linebacker) Jabril Cox, who was released by the Vikings with an injury settlement this summer, has been cleared by doctors to return to play after rehabbing a groin injury," Garafolo said. The former Cowboys draft pick is in shape and expected to work out for teams in the near future."

Will he find a new opportunity in the near future? It wouldn't be too shocking. He is just 26 years old and clearly showed some promise if he was selected in the fourth round of the draft. Hopefully, he is able to get another opportunity soon. Maybe even a return to the Cowboys could make some sense on a short-term, cheap deal. At this point, why not?
