Kirby Smart's NFL prospects unclear after shoving Mississippi State QB

Kirby Smart might have thwarted his chances of getting an NFL job with a rash decision. Ever since Robert Saleh's firing, Smart's name is associated with the Jets head coaching job.

After the on-field tantrum on Saturday, however, Smart might have ruined the chance. The Georgia head coach has been in the college coaching game for almost 25 years. And yet, he surprisingly flipped out after defeating Mississippi State in a 41-31 battle in which Georgia was heavily favored.

The viral video of Smart shoving Mississippi State's QB Michael Van Buren Jr. out of the way aggressively is earning Smart plenty of online trolls. Smart extends his elbow, throwing Van Buren off-balance.

After reacting in such a dramatic fashion, Smart's chances of landing an NFL job might have diminished. While the NFL has plenty of head coaches getting into disagreements with players on the sidelines, violent tantrums like this are hardly tolerated.

Even after it was recorded, the Bulldogs head coach dismissed all the claims made based on the video. Rather, Smart claims he "doesn't remember anything."

"I think I was going after Schumann. I was trying to get Schumann’s attention. We were trying to change personnel. I think it’s the play they came over to our sideline and trying to get Schumann’s attention. But, no, I don’t really remember it," Smart said (h/t brobible).

Even Van Buren confessed to "not really seeing it for real." It might have been an accident, however, the video doesn't show Smart apologizing after he bumped straight into the QB.

Accidents like this can happen in the sideline chaos, but either way the online fans have made up their minds.
