Boston Celtics legend Kevin Garnett was featured on the Netflix documentary Starting 5 in the Jayson Tatum segment, and had nothing but respect for Tatum. Garnett thinks Tatum is trying to be the leader of the Celtics in his own unique way.

“What his team needs from him, he brings in a consistent manner every night. He’s not trying to be KG, he’s not trying to be Bron. He’s being Jayson Tatum and I think we should all respect what he’s putting down and respect who he is.”

While Tatum didn’t win Finals MVP last season, he did lead the team in a lot of stats. He led in all the main ones in the playoffs, being number one in scoring, rebounding, and assists.

His perimeter shooting is probably what stopped him from winning Finals MVP, but it seems that he has fixed his shot, and teams will have trouble guarding him.

Tatum looks like he will be the superstar the team needs, and he should be taken seriously this upcoming season.
