The Atlanta Braves certainly were busy ahead of the 2024 Major League Baseball trade deadline.

Atlanta dealt with a plethora of injuries throughout the season, but that didn't stop the club. The Braves still scratched and clawed their way into the playoffs, although they didn't make a deep run. Atlanta was busy around the trade deadline and added some reinforcements to the organization ahead of the stretch run.

One player the club brought back was veteran reliever Luke Jackson in a trade with the San Francisco Giants. He spent five seasons with the Braves from 2017 through 2021 and helped the team win the World Series in 2021.

Jackson joined the Giants afterward and landed a two-year, $11.5 million deal . Now, it's unclear what will happen next with him.

The Braves have a $7 million club option for Jackson for the 2025 season, and FanSided's Zachary Rotman suggested the team won't bring him back.

"The Braves made one big trade deadline deal, acquiring Jorge Soler and Luke Jackson from the San Francisco Giants," Rotman said. "Soler's glove proved to be an adventure, but his bat was a very welcome addition. Jackson, on the other hand, didn't do much at all for Braves fans to look back at positively...

"Braves fans will always have a soft spot for Jackson thanks to everything he did for them in their 2021 World Series run, but it's not 2021 anymore. The Braves bullpen in 2025 will be better without Luke Jackson than with him. If he's interested in a minor league deal to return to Atlanta, perhaps the Braves will consider it, but anything more than that should be extremely unlikely."

Atlanta will have a decision to make, and after a rough run down the stretch, maybe Jackson's time with the team will come to an end.
