The San Francisco Giants took a slight step forward in 2024.

San Francisco won 79 games in 2023 and 80 in 2024. The Giants clearly have room for growth and need to find a way to improve the offense this offseason. San Francisco has money to spend, although many players have turned down big deals with the Giants.

The Giants have tried to bring superstars to town but haven't had too much success, but it's not from a lack of trying.

FanSided's Zach Pressnell put together a list of players the club could pick up this winter in free agency to help add offense for the Giants and suggested Chicago Cubs star Cody Bellinger.

"The Giants desperately need to add a few different things to their lineup," Pressnell said. "They need to add a few outfielders, especially with how many upcoming free agents they have, and they need to add a consistent power bat. Bonus points if that addition can play every day.

"The perfect player for this scenario is set to enter free agency, as long as he declines his player option, which is expected. It's Cubs first baseman/outfielder, Cody Bellinger. Bellinger was signed late last offseason, ending up back with the Cubs after some speculation that he could leave in free agency. He landed with a contract that gave him a player option in 2025 and many expect him to decline it and hit the open market again."

Bellinger has been a National League Most Valuable Player and has rebounded as a member of the Cubs. He struggled towards the end of his with the Los Angeles Dodgers due to injuries, but he returned to form with Chicago and could be a solid option for the Giants.
