Defensive tackle Leki Fotu officially makes his New York Jets ' debut against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.

About four hours prior to kickoff, the Jets announced two roster moves and two Practice Squad gameday elevations.

While activating Fotu off Injured Reserve, New York released defensive lineman Jalyn Holmes in a corresponding transaction that opened a roster spot. In addition, the Jets called up tight end Anthony Firkser and safety Jalen Mills for the October 14 home game against the division rival Bills.

Fotu, who signed as a free agent this past offseason, was on the shelf since the start of the regular season due to a hamstring injury. He was a full participant last week at practice and should provide a boost the New York's run defense .

It'll be Fotu's first regular season game action since suiting up for the Arizona Cardinals in the 2023 finale against the Seattle Seahawks . The interior lineman logged 22 defensive snaps in the Jets' preseason opener on August 10 but did not dress for either of the two subsequent exhibition contests.

In his second season with the Jets, Holmes appeared in five games this year, logging 103 reps on defense. He recorded four tackles and one quarterback hit.

Firkser, who has made 72 career NFL appearances, joined the Jets this past summer and subsequently landed on the Practice Squad. He was elevated for the season opener, totaling 10 snaps (9 on special teams), but has not played since.

Mills, a former Super Bowl champion with 106 games of NFL experience, signed to the Jets' P-Squad three weeks ago. The 30-year-old defensive back played all 17 games for the New England Patriots in 2023.
