Browns and Vikings predicted to make a big trade at the deadline

The Cleveland Browns suffered another loss on Sunday, as the team dropped to 1-5 after a 20-16 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6. The Browns' offense put together another abysmal performance and has yet to score 20 points in any game this season.

With Cleveland's season on life support, the organization could be a heavy seller at the Nov. 5 trade deadline. One of the team's most valuable assets is wide receiver Amari Cooper, who is in the final year of his contract and could aid a contender.

If the Browns decide to move on from Cooper at the deadline, Bleacher Report's David Kenyon believes the Minnesota Vikings could be a destination for him.

The conversation is not a hypothetical. Considering how badly the Cleveland Browns have played so far in 2024, Amari Cooper is very much a candidate to be dealt in October.

To the surprise of everyone, the Minnesota Vikings are 5-0 behind a resurgent Sam Darnold. The safest path is sticking with the existing roster and seeing how long it can overachieve. The receiving corps is a little thin, but Jordan Addison and Jalen Nailor are quality complements to superstar Justin Jefferson.

Minnesota doesn't need Cooper and is extremely thin on 2025 draft capital. It'd be nice to have Cooper, nevertheless, and the NFC is underwhelming this season. Hey, perhaps a franchise that has never won a Super Bowl would consider attacking an unexpected window of contention.

Subpar quarterback play from Deshaun Watson has caused Cooper's numbers to dip, but the five-time Pro Bowler is one of the league's most consistent and dynamic receivers.

Cooper has tallied seven 1,000-yard seasons during his nine-year career, including a career-high 1,250 yards in 2023 despite inconsistent play from Cleveland's revolving door of signal-callers.

The Vikings' receiving corps. is already filled with talent and explosiveness, but acquiring Cooper would take the offense to the next level.

Justin Jefferson and Cooper would immediately form the most formidable wide receiver duo in the NFL, and Jordan Addison as the WR3 would be the perfect complement to the Pro Bowl receivers.

Pulling off this trade could be difficult for Minnesota, as the team is deprived of Day 2 draft picks and only has three picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Vikings' first-round selection will likely be in the mid-to-late 20s, so general manager Andrew Barry could demand that pick in the potential deal.
