On the day after he suffered a season-ending injury, a statement on behalf of Detroit Lions star edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson has been released.

The inspirational message was posted to Instagram and thanks everyone for the showing of support while also announcing that the former No. 2 overall pick's surgery was a success and he's going to make a full recovery.

"In light of Aidan's injury last night, we want to thank you all for the outpouring of love and well wishes," the statement read . "Your support through this shocking situation means so much to our family.

"We are blessed to share that Aidan's surgery was a success. Thank you to the doctors and nurses who have taken such good care of him. Aidan wants you all to know that his healing and redemption story has begun. He is holding the motto of Detroit close to his heart: resurget cineribus. He will rise from the ashes."

There have been conflicting timelines given for Hutchinson's recovery. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Hutchinson suffered a broken tibia and fibula and will need around six-to-eight months to recover, ending his season.

However, head coach Dan Campbell stated that Hutchinson's timeline is around four to six months and he isn't ruling out a return if the Lions make a run late into the playoffs. Someone in Hutchinson's camp also told Michael Stone of 97.1 The Ticket and Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News that Hutchinson is hoping to be back if the Lions make it to the Super Bowl, which is less than four months away.

“It’s four-to-six months,” Campbell said. “I would never count Hutch out. Ever. So, yeah, probably long road. But I would never count him out. I would say if anybody could make it back, it’d be him.”

“Just knowing Hutch, he’s got one of those rare — if he believes in it, he can will himself to find a way to get back,” Campbell added. “It’s one of those guys that the mind can heal the body, and he’ll find the next best thing and do whatever it takes to get back. So who knows?”

Whatever the case may be, we just wish Hutchinson the best in his recovery.
