Bears predicted to select Ohio State superstar with 2025 first-round draft pick

Are the Chicago Bears in the market for one more wide receiver?

Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams is a lucky man these days, as the Bears' top three receivers all appear to be clicking. Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, and D.J. Moore could all be number-one targets on any given day, so having all three to throw to is practically a dream.

However, Allen will be a free agent this spring, and the Bears may be inclined to let the 12-year-veteran go elsewhere if his price tag is high. That could open the door for the Bears to snag one more pass-catcher, and they could look to the draft to do so.

Some college programs are known for pumping out elite skill players, and the Bears could be eyeing one of them for receiver talent. Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department recently urged the Bears to draft Ohio State wideout Emeka Egbuka with their 2025 first-round pick.

"Despite having a breakout performance on Sunday, Keenan Allen is an impending free agent and the Bears hadn't gotten much from him unit this past week's performance," the authors said. "So, Ryan Poles might explore this year's wide receiver class in the draft, and the Buckeye would be a solid replacement for the veteran."

Egbuka, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound senior, has done nothing but produce for the Buckeyes. He has 2,383 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns in his college career, and has garnered a reputation for being a quarterback's ideal security blanket with his great route-running skills in the slot.

It would be interesting to see the Bears prioritize receiver over other positions of need in the first round after taking Odunze ninth overall this past season. Center, offensive guard, and linebacker all come to mind as positions with more dire depth chart shortages.

However, if the Bears are comfortable addressing those shortages later in the draft or in free agency, Egbuka could give them a nuclear passing game. And sometimes the best way to build a Super Bowl contender is to turn a strength into a superpower.

Fuck that, I’d be stunned if their first pick isn’t an offensive lineman provided there’s a viable candidate, I wouldn’t be surprised if they took another in round 2 if deserving O line has to be a major priority either through the draft or free agency. Packers SUCK !
