The Miami Dolphins are coming off a bye week that was desperately needed. Miami has been in somewhat of a tailspin since losing quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to a concussion, and the break – at least coaches and fans would hope – gives the team time to catch their breath and re-group. The break also gives the Dolphins a bit of time to heal up, as the first few weeks of the season have taken their toll on the team.

Unfortunately for Miami, they didn’t heal up as much as they likely would have hoped, as 10 players are listed on the initial injury report ahead of their Week 7 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts . That sounds like not much recovery happened over the bye week, but two of those 10 players, offensive tackle Terron Armstead and defensive tackle Calais Campbell, were held out of Wednesday’s practice not due to health concerns, but merely as a veteran rest day.

Safeties Jevon Holland (hand) and Jordan Poyer (shin) and linebackers Mohamed Kamara (ankle), David Long, Jr. (knee), and Emmanuel Ogbah (bicep) were all listed as limited participants, while running back De’Von Achane (concussion), cornerback Cam Smith (hamstring), and quarterback Skylar Thompson (ribs) were all full participants.

On the other side, the Indianapolis Colts had a whopping nine players who were held out of Wednesday’s practice: Wide receivers Josh Downs (toe) and Michael Pittman (back), running backs Trey Sermon (knee) and Jonathan Taylor (knee), center Ryan Kelly (calf), cornerback Chris Lammons (ankle), defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo (hamstring), tackle Braden Smith (knee), and linebacker E.J. Speed (knee).

In good news for the Colts, quarterback Anthony Richardson was listed as a full participant as he recovers from an oblique injury. The Dolphins have famously struggled to contain running quarterbacks in the past, so having him available for the game could be a boon for the Colts in an important showdown for both teams.
