The Atlanta Braves were swept by the San Diego Padres in the National League Wild Card Round. They could look to bring in some starting pitching this offseason to potentially get back to the World Series.

While listing free agents the Braves could sign to have an immediate impact as Reynaldo Lopez did, FanSided's Wynston Wilcox urged the Braves to pursue Jack Flaherty of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

"This is a decent free agent class for pitchers with Fried and Corbin Burnes headlining the starting arms. But one pitcher that could be a good addition to the Braves is Jack Flaherty," wrote Wilcox. "This past season, after being dealt to the Los Angeles Dodgers from Detroit, Flaherty went 6-2 in 10 starts with 61 strikeouts."

The Dodgers will also likely make an effort to keep Flaherty in his home state. However, the Dodgers should see Shohei Ohtani return to the mound next season, so they may not feel the need to keep Flaherty around after all. The Braves have not shied away from spending top dollar in the past. Flaherty would help solidify the Braves' rotation in 2025.

"With Clayton Kershaw dealing with injuries all season and injury keeping Shohei Ohtani from flexing his two-way stardom in his first season in Los Angeles, Flaherty was a great addition and is proven," wrote Wilcox. "The Braves have to go after one of the top arms in free agency and Flaherty is a good option."

Spotrac projects Flaherty to sign a three-year, $60 million deal in free agency. Unlike Corbin Burnes or Blake Snell, Flaherty is one of the more affordable options, even though he will earn an average of $20 million each season of his projected deal.
