Cowboys $34 million veteran floated as trade candidate before deadline

The Dallas Cowboys will have some decisions to make over the next few weeks and should consider capitalizing ahead of the National Football League trade deadline.

Dallas is 3-3 on the season and should be looking for ways to add ahead of the deadline if it is able to rack up some wins over the next few weeks.

Although the Cowboys should be looking to add, some players could make some sense as possible trade candidates. Dallas is set at quarterback. The Cowboys handed Dak Prescott a massive new deal. He clearly is the Cowboys' guy and isn't going to be going anywhere.

Cooper Rush is on the depth chart as Dallas' No. 2 quarterback and former first-round draft pick Trey Lance is No. 3.

Fox16.com's  Koby Skillern floated Lance as a possible trade candidate as he has no pathway to playing time and another team may take a chance on him.

"The Cowboys’ plans for Trey Lance became clear when they decided to extend Dak Prescott," Skillern said. "This makes Lance an appealing, low-cost trade target for teams in need of quarterback help, such as the Miami Dolphins, Las Vegas Raiders, and Tennessee Titans. The Dolphins could use Lance to stay in playoff contention while Tua Tagovailoa recovers from his concussion.

"The Raiders, whose quarterbacks were outplayed by Lance in the preseason, could see him as an upgrade. Meanwhile, the Titans are desperately searching for a young quarterback to lead their offense, and Lance could fit the bill."

Lance certainly could bring back a draft pick or two. Why not move him at this point?
