The Kansas City Chiefs have been crushed by injuries, particularly at the wide receiver position. They lost both Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown and Rashee Rice likely for the season . That has left a void in the position.

Despite rampant rumors suggesting DeAndre Hopkins is the ideal fit with the Chiefs , another valuable receiver might be on the market.

Jacksonville Jaguars veteran wideout Christian Kirk would also seamlessly fit into the Chiefs plans. The talented 27-year-old signed a four-year, $72 million contract with Jacksonville, which caught many people off guard.

The Jaguars " are receiving interest " in Kirk, according to the Washington Post's Jason La Canfora.

They’re going to add a receiver before the deadline, for sure ,” an NFL general manager told La Canfora. I think it’s going to be Christian Kirk. He just looks like an Andy Reid receiver. He really fits what they do.”

Kirk was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He struggled to break out in the desert, ultimately landing in the swamp. Since the change of scenery, Kirk has been highly productive.

In his first season with the Jaguars (2022), Kirk caught 84 balls for 1,108 yards and eight touchdowns. Last season, he missed five games due to injury. Yet, the former Texas A&M wideout still managed to reel in 57 of 85 targets for 787 yards. He also posted a career-best 13.8 yards per catch.

The Jaguars are 1-5, and head coach Doug Pederson is on the hot seat. If they lose this weekend to the New England Patriots in London, it would not be a shock to see a fire sale.

That would, of course, include Kirk.

I dont understand how the Chiefs stay under the cap every year. They have a boatload of players making top of the NFL salaries. Just 3 of their players make over 100 mil total. Thats 1/3 of the cap. So they have 50 players on active roster and 16 on practice squad. Something is definitely fishy with this team. They never discipline their players who hurt civilians in bars and on the road. The Hunts must have Goodell on their payroll. Why doesnt Goodell ever investigate the Chiefs? Chiefs get very very very favorable calls in games. Usually if you watch their games, it theyre in danger of losing or its a tough game the Chiefs will get a PI on a long ball close to the other teams goal line. Bingo...touchdown Chiefs and game won by a pubic hair. Check out their games....a lot like this. Nice to have the Commish in your corner.
