Dawson Sutton, a promising young driver at just 18 years old, has secured a full-time driver contract with Rackley WAR for the upcoming 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The announcement was made amidst considerable excitement at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

As he prepares to represent Rackley WAR, Sutton will be the driver of the No. 26 vehicle, adorned with sponsorship from Rackley Roofing and W.A.R. Shocks, and will participate in the entire 25-race schedule, commencing at the illustrious Daytona International Speedway.

The Tennessee-rooted team entered the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2021. The team co-owned by Curtis Sutton, known also for Rackley Roofing, Inc., and Willie Allen, of Willie Allen Racing and W.A.R. Shocks, LLC, has set a notable standard for performance and growth within the series. The team has successfully integrated seasoned drivers such as William Byron and Matt DiBenedetto, the latter carving a memorable mark by securing Rackley WAR's first Truck Series victory at Talladega and earning a place in the playoffs.

Sutton’s rise to this point in his career has been fast-tracked by his ventures through U.S. Legends, Pro, and Super Late Models, ultimately making his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut earlier in the 2024 season. By stepping into the No. 25 Rackley Roofing Chevrolet during the latter part of the season, following Ty Dillon's shift to a coaching role, Sutton captured attention by achieving a top-five finish at Kansas Speedway.

In discussing his recent achievements, Dawson Sutton shared in a press release from the team :

"This is really a phenomenal opportunity. I've dreamed for this day to come, and my goal is to make it to NASCAR's Cup Series that represents the best of the best. It's all a little hard to believe right now, but I know I have a big job to do and that's exactly how I look at it."

Curtis Sutton points out the emotional resonance tied to his son's success in racing:

"Racing is not only a business, but a family for sure. Blood or not, it's a family. But, when it is your blood and the family is on the road for 50 or more races a year together, I won't lie – it's special."

Willie Allen also commented on the signing:

"I really don't think there's anything he can't do. He has a great work ethic; he doesn't take any of this for granted. He works hard to be the best he can be no matter what the situation.

"When we started this three years ago, I explicitly told him he had three years to prove himself. He took that to heart and went to work crafting his skill. I couldn't teach him how to race. I entrusted the best I knew of in Willie Allen, Ron, Candice Hornaday, and Joe Ryan to help me determine if he could really do this. He did."

As long as it's not a reboot of Matt DiBenedetto or Ty Dillon, they could possibly improve their average finish from 32nd to at least 29th. I see potential... not a lot of potential, but potential nonetheless. It's better than racing without a charter, right?
