There has been a lot of chatter around the Chicago Bears, with the 2024 National Football League trade deadline quickly approaching.

Chicago is in a good spot right now. The Bears are 4-2 on the season so far and have looked like a team that is ready to take another step in the right direction. Chicago has a chance to make a run at a playoff spot, but there could be some tough decisions on the way.

The trade deadline is coming up, and there have been plenty of rumors about the team. Chicago signed star running back D'Andre Swift this past offseason, and he has been great for the team. Adding Swift certainly reduced veteran running back Khalil Herbert's role with the team. Now, he could be on his way out of town.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini floated Herbert as a possible candidate to be moved ahead of the upcoming trade deadline.

"Trade deadline names to watch," Russini said. "The trade deadline is 17 days away, and many around the league are keeping an eye on these names: (Carolina Panthers) QB Bryce Young and WRs Diontae Johnson, Jonathan Mingo and Adam Thielen, (San Francisco 49ers) WR Deebo Samuel, Bears RB Khalil Herbert and DE Dom Robinson, (Tennessee Titans) WRs Treylon Burks and DeAndre Hopkins, (and) (Cleveland Browns) DE Za’Darius Smith."

This isn't the first time Herbert has been mentioned as a trade candidate, and likely won't be the last. He has been a solid piece for Chicago, but his days with the team may be numbered.
