Patriots WR shares cryptic social media post after getting called out by Jerod Mayo

The New England Patriots have been looking to get their passing game going in recent weeks, even switching out veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett for third-overall pick Drake Maye last week.

To reach their potential, their pass catchers need to be better, including Ja'Lynn Polk who finished Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London without a catch despite three targets. He also suffered a head injury late in the contest.

After the game, Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo called Polk out for his performance.

"We need more from Polk," Mayo said. "We need more concentration. He'll be a good player in this league. He just has to continue to work at it."

New England took Polk in the second round of this year's draft out of Washington, and he hasn't exactly lived up to expectations. Through seven games, he's cut just 10 of his 26 targets for 78 yards and one touchdown.

"First, I have to remind him, that he's a young football player, and I'm not using that as an excuse, but this isn't the last iteration or evolution of Ja'Lynn Polk," Mayo said. "He just has to get back in the meeting rooms and go back out there on the field and get better."

Following Mayo's press conference, Polk took to social media to share a cryptic message via an Instagram story.

What is Polk hinting at? Is he going to pull a Chukwuma Okorafor and leave the team? Time will tell.
