The Washington Commanders have been one of the most pleasant surprises in the NFL this season, and that is almost totally because of rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.

But there is a concern for the standout signal-caller on Sunday, as he appeared to injure his abdomen in the first quarter of the Week 7 game against the Carolina Panthers .

With the Commanders in the red zone, Daniels could be seen grasping at his abdomen after one play. That led to him being checked out in the blue medical tent, which is concerning to say the least.

Here's the latest update on Daniels.

    Jayden Daniels injury update

UPDATE: Daniels is back on the sideline but is not in uniform after being ruled out. More importantly, he seems to be doing just fine and offered a thumbs up to the crowd.

    End of update

UPDATE: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Daniels will not return to the Week 7 game due to his rib injury.

    End of update

UPDATE: It appears the Commanders have dodged a bullet, as Daniels' mom revealed on X that her son is doing just fine after getting some tests done.

    End of update

UPDATE: Daniels has now gone to the locker room and the Commanders are saying he's questionable to return with a rib injury. Marcus Mariota has been inserted into the game in Daniels' place.

    End of update

Daniels was checked out by trainers on the bench before taking a trip to the blue medical tent. It isn't clear what injury he's dealing with exactly, but it's clearly to Daniels' abdomen and the quarterback is feeling discomfort.

Thankfully, Daniels was cleared after his trip to the tent and he has come back into the game, according to Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post .

While that's certainly great news, Daniels' injury becomes something to monitor for the rest of the game. We'll update this page if any other news becomes available.
