Jayden Daniels injury has Commanders fans, NFL world freaking out

The Washington Commanders have taken the NFL world by storm in 2024 thanks to the rapid emergence of No. 2 overall pick and quarterback Jayden Daniels, who has been incredible through six games of the season.

Daniels has been everything the Commanders could've hoped for, and then some. And it goes without saying that he has given plenty of hope to a fan base that desperately needed some.

However, there is major concern in Week 7 for the rookie quarterback after he came down with a rib injury in the first quarter that has forced his exit from the game. Daniels is currently questionable to return.

The injury occurred during a drive that went into the Panthers' red zone. Daniels was spotted clutching at his abdomen and was clearly in pain as he was getting checked out on the sideline.

The severity of the injury remains unclear, but he has since been taken to the locker room for further examination. Marcus Mariota is now in the game.

As you'd expect, Commanders fans were freaking out over their franchise quarterback.

"If Jayden Daniels is injured, I will k--- myself," one fan wrote .

"For the love of God, please let Jayden Daniels be OK," former Commanders signal-caller Robert Griffin III tweeted .

"Please don't take Jayden Daniels from us," another fan said .

"Jayden Daniels and my heart both in the blue medical tent," fantasy football expert Matthew Berry wrote .

Hopefully the injury isn't serious and Daniels won't miss any time. The good news is, the Commanders don't have to force him back out there, as they should be able to beat the lowly Panthers without their young star.
