Deshaun Watson's tumultuous Browns tenure took another turn on Sunday when he suffered an injury in Cleveland's 21-14 loss to the Bengals. While it hasn't been confirmed yet, the injury appears to be a torn Achilles, which would end the quarterback's season.

As Watson has struggled on the field, along with his legal issues off the field, the situation reached a boiling point in Cleveland before this game, and the injury seemed to burst the bubble. Browns fans loudly cheered Watson's injury, seemingly happy that the team would be forced to play someone else at quarterback moving forward.

Unsurprisingly, Watson's teammates were not happy with the crowd's reaction, and they let the Cleveland faithful know how they felt.

Browns players react to Deshaun Watson injury

After the game, Browns players fiercely defended Watson, arguing that the quarterback didn't deserve to be cheered for getting injured. It started with star defensive end Myles Garrett, who criticized fans and argued that it is never ok to boo injured players.

"Whether it's an opponent that goes down or one of our own, we don't boo, we don't boo guys that are injured on the field," Garrett said. "We should be ashamed of ourselves."

Reserve quarterback Jameis Winston also stood by his teammate.

"I am very upset with the reaction to a man that has had the world against him for the past four years," Winston said. "He put his life on the line for this city."

Even cornerback Greg Newsome took to social media to say booing Watson wasn't ok.

    What happened to Deshaun Watson?

With 1:26 left in the second quarter, Watson tried to scramble but went down with a non-contact Achilles injury. After Browns medical staff evaluated him, Watson was carted off the field and didn't return to the game. At the time, Cleveland was down just 7-0 in the game.

How long is Deshaun Watson out?

If the injury is indeed a torn Achilles, as is the expectation, then Watson will be out for the rest of the season. Not only that, but Achilles injuries also include a rigorous rehab, making his status for the start of next season unclear.

The injury isn't confirmed yet, but head coach Kevin Stefanski said the likely scenario is that Watson will miss the rest of the season.
