Kalif Raymond has historic performance in Lions Week 8 game vs. Titans

The Detroit Lions absolutely spanked the Tennessee Titans at Ford Field in Week 8, and wide receiver and return man Kalif Raymond played a huge part in that.

Raymond, who was facing his former team, notched both a receiving and punt return touchdown during the contest. He is the first player in franchise history to accomplish that feat in the same game.

Both of Raymond's aforementioned touchdowns came in the third quarter with the Lions already having a monster lead.

Raymond first took a punt return 90 yards to the house, beating what was the worst special teams unit in the NFL entering Week 8. He was the sixth Lions player to score a touchdown at that point.

Then, two series later, Raymond was on the receiving end of a pass from quarterback Jared Goff, scoring from seven yards out with no Titans defender in sight. The score gave the Lions a 49-14 lead.

Making Raymond's performance mean even more, it came against a Titans team he used to play for. The Holy Cross product played two seasons in Tennessee and is most remembered for his long touchdown catch in the 2019 playoffs against the Baltimore Ravens.

Raymond joined the Lions in 2021 and is currently in his fourth season with the team. He has been a fantastic contributor as a depth option at wide receiver, and Raymond has been an impact returner, as he displayed on Sunday.
