The script writers went crazy with the Week 8 slate, and the second wave of games Sunday afternoon were no exception.

The Bills and Seahawks met for the first time since 2020 in Week 8— a game called by Tom Brady on Fox —marking quarterback Josh Allen's first official visit to the Pacific Northwest and his second contest against Seattle all time.

He received a Washington welcome, as both teams were greeted with a forecast of wind and rain for the 1:05 p.m. local time kickoff at Lumen Field, which turned into a 70% chance of showers at game time.

With a chance of thunderstorms as well, temperatures were reported to fall in the "lower to mid 50s" throughout the contest before the rain slows as the night goes on.

Here's a Bills vs. Seahawks weather update after heavy rains lead to a sloppy first half in Seattle.

The game in Seattle began on time with a opening touchdown drive from the Bills, drawing multiple penalties during the 90-yard drive. However, it became apparent the rain was going to have a much larger effect on play than anticipated.

The first half, in particular, was expected to be rough, as the rain was supposed to be more present early in the contest.

The rain did indeed play a role. On a crucial fourth-down conversion at the goal line, Geno Smith slipped on the wet field, leading to a turnover on downs.

With just under three minutes to go in the first half, Allen escaped the pocket and attempted to scramble toward the marker on third-and-five inside the Buffalo red zone. Just as the quarterback reached the line of scrimmage, though, the ball slipped out of his hands.

Thankfully, it was recovered by running back Ty Johnson around the 23, saving a touchdown drive that extended the Bills lead to double digits.

Both teams are no stranger to inclement weather, and the Bills headed into the locker room at halftime with the edge in total yards among nearly every other team stat.
