There’s two sides to every story. And in sports it can be difficult to get the honest truth from either side. Nevertheless, the NFL is a business; a results based business, and due this fact changes occur on a yearly basis. For the New York organization, they felt that moving into a different direction in terms of coaching is the answer for future success and dismissed their head coach on Tuesday. Now Robert Saleh Releases his own Official Statement After his recent Firing From the Jets.

Within the four paragraph declaration Saleh recounts his time with New York. Also, includes heartfelt expressions towards fans as well as those he worked with during his tenure. And of course, a direct message for the Jets’ players.

New York has been through a slew of head coaches throughout the years; but a dismissal during the regular season by the NFL organization has been extremely rare. Like many of his predecessors, Robert Saleh’s stint at the helm was brief. Saleh and the Jets parted ways after just three-plus seasons. In 56 games, Robert compiled a 20-36 record and never had a winning season with the Jets.

Robert Saleh’s statement reads as follows:

“To the Jets Organization, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with so many incredible people. I will always be appreciative of the love and support from everyone at 1 Jets Drive.

To all of the players, I truly love and appreciate every single one of you. The character of the men in the locker room made coaching you guys the ultimate privilege. Through all the ups and downs, each and every one of you showed up everyday and attacked every moment.

To my fellow coaches and staff, it has been an honor to work with all of you. Every one of you were “all in” and made sacrifices for one another that will never be forgotten. I wish you all the very best of luck for the remainder of the season.

To the most passionate fan base in the NFL, thank you for embracing my family. It has been a pleasure calling New York our home and we will forever appreciate all of the memories that were created here.

The Jets are desperate to get back to the playoffs. While under Saleh the team did not appear in the postseason once. But Robert Saleh cannot be the only reason why New York is not getting a berth. Can you remember the last time the Jets were in the playoffs?
