Yes, athletes make bank during their actual playing days. But team ownership takes things to a whole other level. Just ask Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan. Well, now a 7 time NFL champion is about to get a piece of the billion dollar pie. Sources confirm that NFL owners are set to vote this Tuesday on the Tom Brady minority ownership stake in the Raiders; and his bid expected to be approved.

This means Tom Brady is just days away from purchasing approximately 10% of the Raiders, along with businessman Tom Wagner, from owner Mark Davis. This is something that has been in the works for some time now. And Brady has been especially patient as developments slowly came together. This particular ownership transaction is one that was agreed to all the way back in May of 2023. However, it needed to be refined and adjusted after the league’s financial committee believed the initial offer was just too discounted.

Nevertheless, now it is October 2024 and it finally looks like everything will be finalized and a done deal. The NFL fall owners’ meeting in Atlanta is coming up. And it is here where they will finally vote on the Brady situation.

Nevertheless, with all the sports figures throughout the years that are becoming part of ownership in various team organizations. Interestingly, it is still almost like a new frontier for NFL players. And Brady is one of the very few pioneering the path for future football players who wish to follow in his business footsteps.

Raiders owner Mark Davis discussed the excitement surrounding Brady soon having a portion of the Las Vegas franchise. Davis states,

“We’re excited for Tom to join the Raiders. And it’s exciting because he will be just the third player in the history of the National Football League to become an owner.”
