The matchup fans have been wanting is going to down as planned. It was looking a bit iffy on Washington’s side due to Jayden leaving the game last week. However, it has been confirmed that the Washington Commanders Jayden Daniels will in fact play against the Bears and Caleb Williams this afternoon.

Daniels has had an extremely positive effect on the Commanders franchise. So far this season he has helped the organization amass a record of 5-2. Which has them leading and at the top of their division in the NFC East that includes the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles.

So then, of course the Commanders wish to be careful now that it looks like they have at long last found their starting quarterback. Washington took several precautions, but feel that Daniels is good to go. The rookie phenom suffered a rib injury during the Commanders’ first possession in last week’s 40-7 win over the Carolina Panthers. He did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday and was limited on Friday, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

Furthermore, Adam Schefter weighed in on the situation on Sunday morning. Schefter briefly mentions,

“Signs point to Commanders QB Jayden Daniels playing vs. the Bears, per league sources.”

Moreover, Jay Glazer in a live broadcast also provided a quick update before Sunday’s NFL action got underway. Glazer states,

“Guys I told you earlier in the show that I was going to have more of an update for you on Jayden Daniels and I do. The team just met with him. He had no setback from yesterday’s workout. They’re still going to put him through pregame warm-ups but provided that something unforeseen or crazy doesn’t happen at pregame warm-ups. Jayden Daniels is expected to start in that game.”

Additionally, Tracy Wolfsen of CBS Sports reports, “Just spoke with Dan Quinn. He feels really good with where Jayden is at and how he looked in that Friday practice. He will still workout pregame but barring a last minute setback Jayden Daniels will start today.”

Therefore, it looks like Caleb versus Jayden, rookie vs rookie is happening. The Bears have a winning record as well being 4-2. Both of these rookie QB’s have their respective teams playing well and winning. Therefore, today’s showdown should be piece of NFL cinema. We’ll return later with a recap of the game.
