NFL Gambler Places $31K Bet On Raiders To Win Super Bowl LIX

A gambler at Caesars Sportsbook has placed a $31,000 bet on the Las Vegas Raiders to win Super Bowl LIX in the 2024 NFL season. The Raiders have not advanced to the Super Bowl since the 2002 season, when they lost 48-21 to a dynamic Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad led by then-head coach Jon Gruden.

NFL gambler will win $2.48 million from the $31,000 bet if the Las Vegas Raiders win Super Bowl LIX

The Raiders have only made the playoffs twice since then. However, that still didn’t deter the bettor from wagering $31,000 at 80/1 odds on coach Antonio Pierce’s team to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

If the Raiders manage to win this season’s Super Bowl, the bettor will win $2.48 million. This gambler is putting his faith in quarterback Gardner Minshew to lead the Raiders to the promise land.

The veteran quarterback led the Indianapolis Colts to a 9-8 record last season, nearly making the playoffs out of the AFC South.

Minshew, 28, is competing with second-year quarterback Aidan O’Connell for the starting job.

Following a 3-5 start through the first eight weeks of the 2023 season, the Raiders fired head coach Josh McDaniels and general manger Dave Ziegler.

Raiders finished 8-9 last season after Antonio Pierce replaced Josh McDaniels at head coach after 3-5 start

Las Vegas went 5-4 after McDaniels’ firing to finish the season with an 8-9 record under Pierce. Because the team bounced back, Pierce did just enough to remain with the organization.

On Jan. 19, he was named the 23rd head coach in franchise history.

Although the Raiders were better under Pierce last season, they currently still have the third-worst odds to win Super Bowl LIX from the AFC West division and the seventh worst overall in the NFL.

Simply put, this is a long-shot bet for the gambler, who is likely already a millionaire based on his wager.

In May, another bettor placed a spiteful $1 bet on the Dallas Cowboys to go winless at 0-17, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The wager would pay out $1,001 if America’s Team fails to win a single game.

The Cowboys have won 12 games in each of their last three seasons. Dallas has won at least four games each season this century. Only the 2008 Detroit Lions (0-16) and 2017 Cleveland Browns (0-16) have finished an entire season without a single victory over the last four decades.

The 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-14) and 1982 Baltimore Colts (0-8-1 in strike-shortened season) went winless as well. Which bet is more ridiculous?
