NASCAR Cup Series Coke Zero Sugar 400 Entry List: Dates, Event Times At Daytona International Speedway

NASCAR Cup Series driver Tyler Reddick overcame two late caution periods and side-by-side restarts against William Byron to claim Monday’s rain-delayed FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

The defending Daytona 500 titleholder, Byron regretted his lane choice on the double-overtime restart. The Hendrick Motorsports pilot selected the high side after outracing Reddick from the low side – and taking the lead – on the previous restart.

“I will relive that restart and what lane to choose overnight for sure,” Byron said, as reported by NASCAR.com. “It seems like always as the leader you want to take the top, but I’ve gotten beat twice here by the bottom and I had the lead on the bottom barely over him.

“But he had a better car than us, he was a little bit faster. Second sucks, but really proud of the effort. I feel like we’ve been trying to put weeks together like this and this is a really good step.”

The National Series events will be split next weekend. The Cup and Xfinity circuits will compete at Daytona International Speedway, while the Truck and ARCA series will race at The Milwaukee Mile.
