Angel Reese Double-Double Stats Make Her Look Like WNBA Version Of Shaq

The WNBA MVP race between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese is the most exciting in the history of the WNBA. Both are having historic seasons. Reese has already locked up a few WNBA records, with her sights on a few more.
Angel Reese Chasing Records During Rookie Campaign
Angel Reese is making her mark in the WNBA record books.
In Friday night’s 82-80 loss to the Connecticut Sun, the Chicago Sky rookie once again dominated the boards, pulling down 20 rebounds for the second straight game, including seven on the offensive end. She also contributed 13 points, leading her team in both categories.
According to ESPN, Reese’s back-to-back 20-rebound performances are unprecedented in WNBA history. She becomes the first WNBA or NBA rookie to achieve this since Shaquille O’Neal accomplished the feat with the Magic in 1993.
Tina Charles is the only other WNBA player to record multiple 20-rebound games in a rookie season, doing so in 2010.
That’s not the only record she’s chasing associated with Shaq. Reese is looking to become the first rookie to lead the WNBA or NBA in rebounding since Shaq averaged 13.9 rebounds/ game to lead the league in ’92-’93.
Leading the league with 12.6 rebounds per game—a pace that could set the record for the highest single-season average ever—, Reese is on track to break the marks for most offensive rebounds and total rebounds in a season. She needs just 21 more offensive rebounds to surpass Yolanda Griffith and 52 more total rebounds to overtake Sylvia Fowles’ record of 404, set in 2018. With 12 games still to play, Reese is on a trajectory to break and potentially crush that record, given her current pace.

Reese has tallied 352 rebounds this season, ranking 12th on the WNBA’s all-time single-season leaderboard.
If she maintains her current pace, she is expected to break both records near or during the Sky’s September 3rd game against the Las Vegas Aces.
Reese also set a new WNBA record with 15 consecutive double-doubles in 2024, becoming the fastest player in league history to reach 20 double-doubles.
Reese is expected to break both records during the Sky’s September 3rd game against the Las Vegas Aces if she maintains her current pace.
you see the video of E.T. in her last game getting the ball then hopping twice with it before missing the shot then collecting 5 rebounds while 4 open teammates stand around watching?and this is your double double queen....the Sky are worse with her....if she was as good as the Silverback brigade makes her out to be she wouldn't have been picked 7th
