Problems arose minutes after early access opened when servers crashed for players trying to access online modes.

Connecting to the 2K servers is mandatory for users looking to play game modes that require online connectivity.

Server crashing is an online problem experienced by many players worldwide. The surge in traffic likely led to the technical difficulties.

NBA 2K Servers Are Running Again

After a 30-minute delay, many players confirmed that the 2K servers were functional again.

Players can check their official game status on nba2k.com/gamestatus.

As of 2:10 p.m. ET, all four server networks — PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Steam, and Nintendo Switch Online — are tagged with a “normal” status and deemed “up and running.”

Users who did not preorder the game can purchase it on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S starting September 6.
