It’s official: golf fans will finally get the match they’ve been waiting for: a PGA Tour vs LIV Golf showdown. Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are set to team up to take on LIV Golf stars Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka in Las Vegas.

The upcoming rendition of The Match will be a must-watch TV as the top golfers from each league compete against each other. The Match in Las Vegas will mark the first time these players will play against each other outside the majors.

The Match is an exhibition series featuring some of the most prominent and high-profile athletes, such as Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning.

Blake Smith of Hambric Sports confirmed Scheffler and Koekpa’s appearances for the upcoming event. Other than the headliners, no details have been released. The Match will feature Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy vs. Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka in a PGA Tour vs. LIV Golf battle.

PGA Tour vs LIV Golf Will Be Must-See TV

In 2024, The Match will pit the PGA Tour’s biggest stars against the LIV Golf’s most talented players, allowing the player’s to settle one of the sport’s biggest debates on the golf course.

With so much tension between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour over the last few years, the Match will be the first real showdown between the two leagues.

The event is set to be held in mid-December in Las Vegas. There have been no details on the course or date, but TNT will televise the Match. Between the pairs, there have been a combined 13 majors over the last decade.

McIlroy was the first to confirm his participation in the unique event.

“I’m thrilled to partner with Scottie in what promises to be an exciting duel against Bryson and Brooks in Vegas this December,” he said to Golfweek. “This isn’t just a contest between some of golf’s major champions; it’s an event designed to energize the fans. We’re all here to put on a great show and contribute to a goodwill event that brings the best together again.”
