The Cleveland Browns gave QB DeShaun Watson a boatload of money to become their starting QB.

He has not lived up to the deal and has been a major letdown for the Browns.

In week 1, the Browns looked lost on offense and Watson looked horrendous.

He threw two interceptions and was sacked six times.

Watson was under duress all game from the Cowboys’ pass rush attack.

The rushing attack sorely misses Nick Chubb.

Below, we take a look at whether their week 1 offensive performance was just a bad game or a bad sign.

Was The Cleveland Browns’ Week 1 Offensive Performance A Bad Game Or A Bad Sign?

DeShaun Watson was considered one of the best QBs in the league during his time with the Houston Texans.

With the Cleveland Browns, Watson is considered one of the worst QBs in the league.

His offensive numbers are comparable to Zach Wilson and Bryce Young.

Watson has looked like a shell of himself with Cleveland.

The deal the Browns gave Watson may go down as the worst deal in NFL history.

With Nick Chubb out and may not be fully healthy this year, this has added more pressure on Watson this season.

Watson’s week 1 performance was horrible.

The offensive line did not help Watson as he was under pressure all game.

Still, Watson looked horrible in the contest.

While people will say it was just week 1 against a very good defense, this performance is dating back to last year when Watson was healthy.

Cleveland’s offense looked better when Joe Flacco was the QB than when Watson was last year.

The offense’s performance in week 1 is a bad sign to come for Cleveland.

    Their offensive line got dismantled.

While Jerome Ford is a capable backup running back, he is nowhere near the threat Nick Chubb is.

Amari Cooper is a good WR but the Browns have no other receiving threat.

David Njoku is week-to-week with an ankle injury.

If the Browns cannot improve on offense, they will be in serious jeopardy of finishing last in a tough AFC North.

Watson must improve drastically and perform consistently.

After a rough week 1, Browns fans have a lot to panic about regarding their offense.

This is becoming a trend with Watson.

Week 1 was a bad sign more than it was just a bad game.
