The Miami Dolphins (1-0) backfield is reeling with injuries after a Week 1 victory. Which running backs will play in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills? We explore the Dolphins RB depth chart below.

Raheem Mostert out, De’Von Achane game-time decision

The Dolphins play the Buffalo Bills in Miami on Thursday Night Football.

The Dolphins will be without running back Raheem Mostert, who is out with a chest injury. Mostert, who scored an NFL-leading 18 rushing touchdowns in 2023, ran for nine yards on six carries in Week 1.

The Dolphins may also be without De’Von Achane, who injured his ankle against the Jaguars.

Achane appeared to be the Dolphins’ No. 1 running back in Week 1, carrying the ball 10 times for 24 yards and one touchdown. Achane excelled in the passing game, recording seven catches for 76 yards.

Head coach Mike McDaniel said Achane is a game-time decision for Thursday night.

If Achane joins Mostert on the sideline in Week 2, who will the Dolphins turn to at running back?

Jeff Wilson Jr. is the leading candidate to become the top back if Achane sits out. Wilson rushed for a team-leading 26 yards on five carries in Week 1.

Jaylen Wright is another running back who could rush the ball for Miami in Week 2. The Dolphins selected Wright in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft.

Wright played at the University of Tennessee, where he was named second-team All-SEC in 2023 after accumulating 1,013 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns in 12 games.

Wright was inactive in Week 1.
