Arch Manning may make his first start this week for the Texas Longhorns, with Quinn Ewers dealing with an oblique injury. So, what do fans need to know about Arch Manning?

Arch Manning relieved Heisman frontrunner Quinn Ewers after Ewers suffered an oblique injury against Louisiana Tech. The Texas Longhorns and their fans were treated to an impressive Manning show with highlight plays and quick-strike scores.

Manning Lights it up in Austin as Heisman Odds Jump

Manning made his 2024 season debut against Colorado State, entering the game in the third quarter with the Longhorns holding a 38–0 lead. He completed five passes for 95 yards and a touchdown while adding a rushing touchdown.

In the following game against UTSA, Manning stepped in for Quinn Ewers, who left with an abdominal injury in the second quarter.

On his first play, Manning threw a 19-yard touchdown to DeAndre Moore, and shortly after, he rushed for a 67-yard touchdown, extending Texas’ lead to 28–7. Later, Manning connected on a 75-yard touchdown pass to freshman receiver Ryan Wingo, increasing the score to 42–7.

He capped off his performance with another passing touchdown in the fourth quarter before being relieved by freshman Trey Owens. Manning finished the game with 223 passing yards, 53 rushing yards, and five total touchdowns (four passing, one rushing) as Texas routed UTSA 56–7.

As soon as the game ended, Arch Manning’s Heisman odds skyrocketed from +15000 to +1600 overnight, reflecting his standout performance against UTSA. His dominant outing in relief of Quinn Ewers has suddenly thrust him into the Heisman conversation, showcasing his potential to be a key player for Texas moving forward.

    Arch Manning NIL Evaluation

Arch Manning, the highly-touted quarterback and famous Manning football family member, has become a rising star in college sports and a name, image, and likeness (NIL) deal. As a redshirt freshman at the University of Texas, his potential on the field has been matched by the immense commercial opportunities off it.

Before even playing significant snaps, Manning’s NIL valuation soared due to his family’s legacy and the buzz surrounding his college recruitment. He was already considered one of the top prospects in the 2023 class, making him a highly desirable figure for brands looking to align with his name.

Manning’s growing NIL valuation and deals, such as with EA Sports and Panini America, place him in the upper echelon of college athletes leveraging their name and image for financial gain. With a current NIL valuation of $3.1 million, his status continues to rise as he gains more exposure on and off the field.

Manning secured his first major NIL deal, signing a multi-year partnership with Panini America. This partnership allows Manning to release exclusive trading cards, adding to his growing NIL portfolio as one of the most marketable athletes in college football.

According to On3, Manning currently ranks third among all-time NIL leaders behind Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders ($5.1 million) and LSU star gymnast Livvy Dune ($4 million).

It should be noted that Texas starting QB Quinn Ewers has an NIL evaluation of $2.3 million.

When is Arch Manning Draft Eligible?

Arch Manning’s impressive performance for Texas against UTSA shows that he’s on track to be a major NFL Draft prospect soon.

College football players must be removed from high school for three years to qualify for the NFL Draft. Manning enrolled at Texas in 2023 and took a redshirt during his freshman season, but his eligibility clock started ticking immediately.

The 2024 season marks his second year in college, meaning he can declare for the draft as early as 2026, following his redshirt sophomore season next year in 2025.

However, Manning’s path is unique. He chose Texas specifically to be developed by head coach Steve Sarkisian, understanding that he wouldn’t start immediately with Quinn Ewers entrenched as the starter. Ewers is expected to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, but he has another year of eligibility if he chooses to stay.

Manning’s patience and willingness to learn under Sarkisian’s system demonstrate his maturity and long-term mindset, setting him apart from typical QB prospects.
