NASCAR Xfinity Series Ambetter Health 302 Entry List: Dates, Event Times At Las Vegas Motor Speedway

As Parker Kligerman continued to lament the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ decision to halt last Saturday’s Round of 12 elimination race moments before he crossed the start/finish line at Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course, Sam Mayer’s victory celebration may go on well after arriving in Las Vegas.

Mayer claimed the Drive for the Cure 250 in overtime after race officials called for extra laps following a late crash and Kligerman drove within a few feet of winning his first-ever circuit title and advancing to the Round of 8.

“It’s so big for a lot of reasons. Obviously, getting a win is big in and of itself,” Mayer said, as reported by WKRN Nashville, Tenn. “But we had to win today to advance in the playoffs in the Xfinity Series.

“So, you know, it’s a big deal for that reason. Obviously going back-to-back is super special for me as well.”

During the two OT rotations, Kligerman dropped back to P6 and failed to qualify for the next round of the playoffs, which opens next weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Kligerman remains winless in 118 career circuit starts.

Along with Kligerman, Sheldon Creed, Shane van Gisbergen and Riley Herbst failed to make the Round of 8 cut.
