Brian Bogusevic, former Astros outfielder and Space City Home Network analyst, joins Next Up after the Astros dropped the road series to the Cincinnati Reds with a 12-5 loss on Wednesday.

Spencer Arrighetti, who earned American League Rookie of the Month honors for August, allowed nine runs on six hits and three walks in the first inning, leaving the game after retiring only two batters. To exit the mound in the first inning, "everything has to go wrong, and it did yesterday," Bogusevic said. "[Arrighetti] just didn't have good command of his stuff."

Shortstop Jeremy Peña misplayed a ball in the first inning, which gave the Reds a five-run lead. This added to a recent stretch of defensive mishaps for the former Gold Glove winner, who has 18 errors on the season. "A lot of defense is mental," and "Jeremy is a great defensive player...he's physically gifted," but "fatigue" could be a factor.

Alex Bregman returned to the lineup after missing four straight games with elbow soreness. Kyle Tucker is also looking to return to the field after missing three months due to a fractured shin. However, the Astros are being cautious with both Bregman and Tucker, taking a day-to-day approach. "You don't have to worry about [going] all-in every single day" with a strong lead in the AL West.

Hunter Brown will take the mound in an attempt to avoid the series sweep by the Reds on Thursday. "Hunter Brown has emerged as a top of the rotation guy."
