With the season quickly winding down, the Warriors track teams traveled to Rushford-Peterson to compete in the sub-section tournament. Athletes would need to place high in their events in order to proceed to Sections.

The girls team performed well at the sub-section meet. Notable athletes who qualified for the section meet include: Nicole Banse in the long jump, placing first, and also qualifying in 200m dash; the Warriors 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams, with the 4x100 team ranking third in prelims, and the 4x200 relay team ranking fifth going into the section meet.

A younger team, the girls track team took great strides this year in improving their times and developing younger talent.

The boys side saw good success, as well, with a good number of athletes in the track events moving on to the section meet.

"Our track boys had a good night at the sub-section meet," said coach Reese Wait. "We were able to advance in several events. All in all it was a successful meet, and we look forward being at our best next week for our section meet."

The 100m dash would see three Caledonia/Spring Grove runners qualify: Josh Beardmore, Eli Staggemeyer and Gabe Curley are moving on, ranking fourth, ninth, and 11th, respectively. The 200m dash saw three Warriors again advancing to sections: Fischer Wait, Gabe Curley and Owen Staggemeyer, ranking second, fifth and sixth, respectively. Fischer is also ranked first going into sections in the 400m dash, and Ethan Stendel moves on in the 110m hurdles, ranked third.

The relay squads see Caledonia/Spring Grove hold the top spots for both the 4x100m and 4x200m relay races and those teams make up a combination of speed with Josh Beardmore, Gabe Curley, Eli Staggemeyer, Owen Staggemeyer, and Fischer Wait ready to compete.

For the boys field events, Ethan Stendel ranks third in the high jump going into sections, and Josh Beardmore qualified for yet another event with the long jump, ranked fifth. No Warriors would make it to sections for shot put, but in discus throw, Jordan Tornstrom spots at second place.
