SPRING HILL, Fla. (WFLA) — The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a dangerous suspect after he fled from deputies, according to an alert from their app.

Deputies said they are looking for Michael Humphrey, 35, a suspect in a felony battery case.

Several K9 teams, drones, patrol deputies, and a helicopter were deployed to search the area of County Line Road from Fargo Court to Clearwater Drive in Spring Hill.

However, after an “exhaustive” manhunt, the sheriff’s office cleared the scene but warned residents to be on alert.

The sheriff’s office said Humphrey “has violent tendencies” and warned residents to stay inside and lock their doors.

Humphrey is said to be only wearing dark shorts and having a shaved head with a beard.

If you see him, call 911 and do not approach him.
