    Caitlyn Suhrie & Payge Evans Earn NFCA High School Spring All-Region Honors

    LOUISVILLE, KY — The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced their 2024 NFCA High School Spring All-Region selections with two local area players earning accolades.

    Caitlyn Suhrie (Diamond) — 1st Team Utility/Pitcher

    Diamond’s Caitlyn Suhrie was named to the Region VIII NFCA All-Spring High School First Team for Utility and Pitcher.

    Suhrie had a big season in the circle and at the plate.

    In the circle pitching for the Lady Wildcats, Suhrie posted a 0.91 ERA.

    At the plate, she hit 12 home-runs to go along with 50 RBI’s.

    Suhrie was major piece in Diamond’s incredible 2024 season that resulted in them winning the Class 2 State Championship and finishing with an overall record of 38-1.

    Payge Evans (Mt. Vernon) — 1st Team Designated Player or Utility

    Mt. Vernon’s Payge Evans was selected as an NFCA High School Spring All-Region First Team selection for Designated Player or Utility.

    Evans had a great season for the Lady Mountaineers hitting with .475 batting average.

    She racked up 56 hits, 8 RBI’s and scored 54 runs.

    Evans stepped up big as a senior and helped lead Mt. Vernon to a 27-9 overall record and an appearance in the Class 2 District 6 Championship game.

    What’s Next?

    With these two ladies earning All-Region honors, they now move forward to be considered for the NFCA High School All-American teams which will be announced on July 19th.
