Outdoor retailer to open in bustling downtown Dayton district
DAYTON, Ohio (Dayton Business Journal) -- A downtown Dayton outdoor retailer will open its doors next month. Base Camp Outdoors Co. (Base Camp Dayton) is plotting its upcoming opening in the Water Street District at 420 E. 1st St. in downtown Dayton. The location, anticipated for opening the last weekend of September, will be the company’s first brick-and-mortar store.

Drought monitor: Conditions slowly worsening across Ohio due to lack of rain
CINCINNATI — Drought conditions have slowly been worsening around parts of the WLWT viewing area this summer, and the weather, as of late, has everything to do with it. A lack of rain through the summer months and even into the month of August has exacerbated drought conditions to the point where they are considered severe to extreme for areas of Highland and Adams County, Ohio. The I-275 loop and Greater Cincinnati stand in abnormally dry conditions. The drought doesn't stop in the eastern counties of our viewing area. Areas of both moderate to extreme drought continue into much of eastern and southeast Ohio, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.
