After a rush of late-spring activity in NWA's entrepreneurial world , things are a bit slower during summer.

The big picture: Here are a few things to keep in mind:

β›Ί The University of Arkansas' Greenhouse Outdoor Recreation Program (GORP) is accepting applications for its fall cohort. The 12-week program helps outdoor recreation startups fine-tune their business as they work to commercialize a product or service.

    • Graduating participants are eligible for a $15,000 investment that takes no ownership equity.
    • Applications are due by July 9; the program will run Aug. 27-Nov. 5.

πŸ”¨ Entrepreneurs with home-improvement products ready for retail sale are invited to pitch it to Lowe's by July 12 .

    • Those selected will be invited to Charlotte, North Carolina, for an in-person pitch event in October.

🍜 Female-owned/operated food tech and business development consulting company Cureate will hold a diverse entrepreneurship panel and breakfast at The Medium in Springdale on Saturday, June 29.

🎯 The Shift is a regular feature to catch up quick on what's happening in Arkansas' economy and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
