Eggspectation Now Aiming For Fall Opening
Back in January we let you know that Eggspectation, a restaurant that serves “elevated American cuisine with a lengthy all-day breakfast menu alongside hearty lunch and dinner fare”, is returning to Montgomery County with its upcoming Burtonsville location. In the latest update from the restaurant, we know now the goal is a fall 2024 opening.

Torchy’s Tacos has installed permanent signage at its first DMV restaurant, which will be located at 12266 Rockville Pike in Federal Plaza. Last September we let you know that Texas-based Torchy’s Tacos is coming to 12266 Rockville Pike in Federal Plaza, taking over part of the space that was recently home to Chuy’s and previously home to Ruby Tuesday. The restaurant had its hearing for its alcohol license back on Thursday, February 1st at 11:30am, so that hurdle has been cleared.

SUN Bucks program offers help to DMV families with groceries this summer
ARLINGTON, Va. (7News) — Families looking for extra help with groceries this summer could qualify for a new program called SUN Bucks, which provides $120 for each child. “We think of summer as a fun time no school, play all day, but in reality for a lot of families, school breakfast and lunch may be the most nutritious meals there they can afford,” said Joe Liu, the Director of Advocacy and Public Policy at Capital Area Food Bank. “When the schools are closed, families don't have that extra support, and so they have to buy more groceries. They've cost them a lot more, and we know how much inflation has affected the price of food every time we go to the store. And so this extra $120 benefit. It helps close the gap so that families can make sure their kids have healthy food all year long.”
