REARDAN, Wash. — One person is dead after a crash on U.S. Highway 2 near Reardan. According to Washington State Patrol, one person is dead after crashing their motorcycle into a pick-up truck four miles east of Reardan Saturday night. WSP says that speed was a major factor, and no drugs or alcohol were involved.

Excessive Heat Alerts are in place across all of Washington, most of Oregon and Idaho this week as triple-digit temperatures arrive during the first heat wave of the year. From Saturday to Friday, the Inland Northwest will be under either an Excessive Heat Warning or Advisory as daytime highs reach well into the 90s and triple digits, especially by Tuesday and Wednesday -- Spokane is under the warning. Sunday's forecast highs will trend in the low-to-high 90s for most of eastern Washington and North Idaho, with Spokane's high temperature expected to reach 96 degrees. However, places like Lewiston, Tri-Cities, and Vantage will cruise into the triple digits.
